Adecco are currently recruiting for a Quality Control Inspector for a large electrical manufacturing company. This position will be based at their Scarborough site.

Mission

Proceed with products quality controls at each stage of the Manufacturing and Delivery according to Quality Management instructions. Produce quality measurement, potential diagnostics and if needed run contingency plan.

Knowledge

  • Competent in general electrical / electronic principles.
  • Good product knowledge in relation to operation, interlocks and protection systems.
  • Aware of Low Voltage Health and Safety working practices.
  • Conversant with use of and setting up of electrical test equipment, (Dielectric testing, Primary and Secondary injection test sets, Relay tests, comms systems.)
  • Familiar with all types of relays used, their operation and how to test them.
  • Basic mechanical principles of product operation.
  • Familiar with the requirements of company procedures and customer specifications.
  • Aware of production demands.
  • Competent in the reading of schematics, engineering drawings, work instructions and OEM product literature etc.

Aptitudes Required

  • Able to communicate with customers, management and staff to ensure any problems are resolved effectively.
  • Be able to achieve stretching production targets
  • Technical problem-solving skills.
  • Qualifications

Minimum of HNC in electrical/electronic engineering or relevant applied experience

Working knowledge of Company quality procedures.

Experience

  • Experience of working to meet production targets
  • Good understanding of general electrical/electronic engineering principles.
  • Usually apprentice trained or from electrical testing background with 1-2 years experience.

Attitudes

  • Flexible within the working environment
  • Flexibility - team change roles and tasks to suit workload and skills.
  • Self motivated - use initiative. Team have little direct supervision.
  • Detail conscious/inquiring mind - not happy to cut corners.

  • Shift working as and when required
  • Overtime working as and when required
  • Sitework as required to support in site diagnostics and repairs, rework, modifications
