We are an international manufacturing company based at our modern site in Frimley with both our head office functions and manufacturing teams on site. We are recruiting for an experienced Quality, Continuous Improvement & EHS Manager to join our well established and successful team. We can offer flexible start and finish times, Mon to Fri hours, on site parking, 25 days holiday plus benefits and the chance to join an international company offering a competitive starting salary. Reporting into the COO and Deputy Managing Director. The role would suit candidates who have previous experience of working in a similar role within an Engineering, Manufacturing or similar industrial sector, now seeking a new challenge.

The task of the Quality, Continuous Improvement & EHS Manager, is as follows:-
Maintain and continuously improve the Integrated Management System, covering Quality, EHS and Regulatory Compliance, throughout.

You will support Key Process owners in the following duties:-

Evaluation of effectiveness of their processes by implementation of adequate audit framework and set-up of relevant Key Process Indicators.
Ensuring timely resolution to all System non conformances (issued internally, by third party bodies or customers).
Coaching them in identification of Root Cause and Corrective actions.

Also to Support and improve an effective and efficient Product Non-Quality management process including:-

Management of customers concerns.
Management of Quality issues detected during manufacturing and testing of instruments,
Management of Non-conformance of procured parts.

Working with the Supply Chain Team to support suppliers oversight including:-

Supplier selection and maintenance of approvals.
Definition and execution of supplier audit and development activities where necessary to improve quality, OTD and save costs.
Ensuring timely containment of Non-Quality occurrences and Root-Cause and Corrective action at the supplier.
Supporting definition of relevant Supplier performance metrics linked with appropriate improvement plans.

Implement internal audit framework meeting all regulatory and customers requirement and coach internal auditors as well as process owners in respectively performing efficient audits and robust Root cause and corrective actions, both in Quality and EHS related fields.
Support New Product Developments, making sure that applicable regulatory, customers and internal requirement are taken account of and are clear at the front end of the project/process, and throughout the product lifecycle. This could at times also include involvement with Engineering Change, FMEA, etc.
Anticipate and prepare the company to new quality and regulatory requirements affecting the company to achieve its Strategic goals,
The department is responsible for controlling the management of concessions, FAIR’s, define Inspection criteria, and processes ensuring that it is efficient, and to support development of Quality Plans when required.
Manage advice recall of major product/customer related incidents.
Coordinate Continuous Improvement initiatives in the company using Lean manufacturing and Hoshin methods.
Support framework ensuring safe conditions of work for our people and community.

To be successful you must have the below skills and experience: -
• A working knowledge and understanding of ISO9001, not as a compliance must have but an enabler of performance.
• Excellent written and spoken English, good communication and presentation skills.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar Quality Assurance & CI role.
• Be familiar in managing surveillance and compliance audits for company certification.
• Be a qualified Lead Auditor (CQI Membership) and familiar in scheduling/undertaking internal and external system audits, capable of monitoring corrective and preventive actions identified during audits.
• Be able to provide support to process owners and where necessary facilitate gap analysis and support in implementation of corrective actions. Expert coach for RRCA techniques such as 8D.
• Experience of successfully liaising with an external supply base.
• Ability to provide clear, concise, and comprehensive verbal and written reports to all levels.
• Ability to liaise and negotiate with others in the pursuit of goals.
• Self-motivated and well organized. Flexible and adaptable. Computer literate. Able to interact with customers in a manner that exceeds their expectations and delivers real customer service and provides fair and timely resolution to all complaints.

Ideally you should also have the below experience but this is not essential:-

• Working knowledge and experience of using LEAN tools.
• Experience in Quality assurance from design to manufacture.
• Experience of working within a global supply base.
• A working knowledge and understanding of ATEX, ASME-NQA1, SIL and NEC-500.
• Experience of supplier negotiation and development of suppliers.
• Experience of working with high precision complex parts and products along with knowledge of EHS regulations.
