Location: Tipton
Hours: Monday to Thursday 18:00pm to 06:00am / Fridays 10pm to 6am
Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 per annum


Are you an experienced Quality Assurance Technician looking for a role within the food industry? My client is looking for another person to join their team on a night shift. Currently working days are Monday to Thursday but they are looking to introduce a Friday shift, so you must also be flexible to work a Friday shift too, but this will be less hours. You will be driving continuous improvement and making sure that product quality and best practise food production standards are consistent.

Requirements for the Quality Assurance Technician:
  • Food Technical qualification - HND/Degree or equivalent or relevant working experience.
  • Experience in internal auditing.
  • Minimum of HACCP L2 desirable.
  • Minimum 2 Years' food industry experience.

Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Technician:
  • Conduct unit internal calibration.
  • Consult with engineering re external calibration (ensure accuracy of asset register for calibration) Complaints collation.
  • Conduct allocated internal audits as scheduled.
  • Collate paperwork and ensure they are verified before submitting for scanning.
  • Sample collection for relevant testing (product, environmental, allergen).
  • Assist process technology with process validations.
  • Consult with engineers re water samples, log results and trend ready for monthly report.
  • Management of Ecolab and chase corrective actions.
  • GMP inspections and glass/hard plastic inspections.
  • Support line leaders on the factory floor.
  • Verify process control checks conducted on the factory floor.
  • Raw material sampling schedule.
  • Running of taste panels.
  • Makes decisions on the factory floor regarding conformance of product to specification.
  • Coache operational colleagues and encourages employment of safe practices on the factory floor, Influence behaviour change by confidently and proactively explaining why things need to be done differently.
  • Clearly communicating reasons behind decisions regarding non-conforming product or failure to comply by sighting objective evidence.
  • Using internal audits and inspections to highlight issues and propose solutions for improvement.
  • Trending issues to identify the issues in the factory and using techniques of root cause analysis to find the underlying cause of issues.
  • Reporting the root cause of issues to management so that preventative action plans can be agreed to stop recurrence.
  • Collaborating with operational colleagues to challenge the status quo and suggest ways of solving recurrent problems in the factory.
  • Communicate suggestions for change through audit findings and also complaint investigation findings.
  • Bring back best practise identified from external courses and other external sources.
