Qualified Social Worker - Children in Care Team

Randstad are currently recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker within the Children in Care team!

You will be responsible for providing support and intervention to children and families involved in the care system. This role involves conducting assessments, developing care plans, and coordinating services to ensure the safety, well-being, and permanency of children in care. You will work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to promote positive outcomes for children and families.

The ideal candidate will have experience undertaking a variety of assessments for the purpose of Court, Adoption Work, pre-birth assessments and managing caseloads.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify strengths, needs, and risks.
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with children, families, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Regularly review and update care plans to reflect the changing needs and circumstances of children and families.
  • Provide casework support to children and families involved in the care system, including regular home visits and contact sessions.
  • Coordinate and monitor the delivery of services and interventions outlined in care plans.
  • Advocate for the rights and best interests of children, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes.
  • Facilitate placement matching and transitions for children in care, ensuring placements are safe, stable, and culturally appropriate.
  • Work towards achieving permanency goals for children, including reunification with birth families, adoption, or long-term foster care
  • Provide emotional support and therapeutic interventions to children and families to address trauma, attachment issues, and other challenges.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to access specialised services, such as counselling, education support, or healthcare.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, including assessments, care plans, progress notes, and correspondence.
  • Prepare reports for court hearings, reviews, and other meetings as required by agency policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, including social workers, psychologists, educators, and health care professionals, to ensure integrated support for children and families.
  • Participate in supervision, training, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in child welfare practice.
