Children Looked After 0-16 Early Permanence Team

Croydon

Our Client, Croydon Council, are seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to join our LAC and Early Permanence Team in Croydon.

You will provide expert support to children aged 0-16 who are subject to care proceedings. Representing the local authority in court, you will contribute to decision-making and facilitate early permanence planning. Collaborating with professionals and maintaining accurate records, you will ensure the best outcomes for vulnerable children.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and create care plans for children in care proceedings
  • Represent the local authority in court hearings and contribute to decision-making processes
  • Facilitate early permanence planning, including identifying suitable foster placements or adoptive families
  • Collaborate with professionals, including social workers, lawyers, and therapists, to ensure coordinated support for children
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation
  • Advocate for the rights and welfare of children, ensuring their voices are heard throughout the process
  • Provide mentoring, supervision, and guidance to less experienced team members

Required:

  • Qualified Social Worker with releveant UK registration (SWE/HCPC) - ESSENTIAL
  • Experience in Children Looked After services.
  • At least 3 years Post Qualified Experience in Childrens Social Work
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and court-related interventions
  • Right to work in the UK ( this role does not offer sponsorships)
