The Role - We are currently recruiting for a Food safety and hygiene coordinator, Quality Assurance, who takes pride in their work, is meticulous at delivering a safe, traceable, and consistently high standard of food production with integrity for our clients and consumers. Governed by many regulations and food production standards, it is important this role makes the complicated seem straight forward, influences and trains others to meet the same high standards and takes ownership of their part of the wider Quality Assurance function.

About You
You must be able to demonstrate:

• A strong affiliation to and understanding of the production environment, production line process flow and machinery.
• The ability to perform on and off the job training of others on food safety and hygiene standards.
• Skills to be the HACCP site Lead, managing reviews and implementation on the site.
• Coordination skills and knowledge to manage the site internal audit programme and oversee the pest control provision and actions on the site.
• Drive to improve the food safety culture on the site.
• The ability to manage, host and drive corrective action plans in relation to all 3rd party audit on the site.
• Strong problem solving, communication and solutions orientated skills to deliver results in a timely manner.
• Self-motivation and being keen to develop, with a willingness and desire to learn and improve.
• Ability to propose plans, prepare, and prioritise actions effectively to improve food safety and hygiene of the site based on analytical and observational data.
• Computer literate.

Your qualifications

• Food Hygiene / safety education-based background or equivalent experience of working in a food hygiene environment, preferably manufacturing FMCG.
• HACCP level 3 and Food Safety level 3 minimum.

• Articulate in verbal and written communication appropriate to your audience.
• Able to actively listen and draw conclusions from discussions.
• Able to see the detail and present the root cause of problems, errors, process breakdown.
• Resilient and self-assured when faced with challenging people and problems.
• Analytical of process and people to drive workable solutions, comparisons, and quality data.
• Enjoys working autonomously with initiative driving results to enhance the product and brand.
• A completer / finisher to gain full compliance across multiple function to produce a safe product.

Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Hours: Full time - Monday-Friday 08:30-17:30. However, operational needs may require some flexibility.
