Purchasing Project Lead
Our major client has plants locally and globally and are going through a period of unprecedented growth, with an order book at record levels.
As they are continuing to develop and release exciting new products and pursue high growth plans, they are looking for a project leader within purchasing to join their busy procurement team.
The role is responsible for coordinating and supporting all activity within the purchasing function, particularly around New Product Introduction.
This will include but not be limited to:
- Ensure the scope and targets of the new programme are agreed through reviews to facilitate early supplier engagement.
- Gathering and analysing information for purchasing teams
- Attending service review meetings to look at shortages
- Investigating if suppliers are providing the correct items by liaising with internal stake holders and key people at suppliers
- Looking at New Product Introduction plans
- Updating information relating to suppliers
Requirements
- Production or Engineering background
- The position calls for strong commercial and financial awareness and would suit candidates with a background in programme or project management .
The ability to communicate at every level of the business is important together with the ability to prioritise workload and meet very precise deadlines.
