Purchasing Manager

A successful and growing wholesaler company in North London are seeking a Purchasing Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This role will be part of their Product Development department and will be responsible for procuring materials from the start to end process, including buying products and placing orders.

This role will be best suited for someone self-motivated with previous experience in Purchasing and strong organisational skills.

This is a Monday- Friday position, office based.

Key Duties:

  • Delegate department goals and oversee tasks to Purchasing Assistant
  • Manage regular reporting and deliver sales forecasting to CEO
  • Attend and participate in regular departmental meetings
  • Collate and analyse data on previous collection sales to plan for next season
  • Facilitate with mood boards and selecting collections in line with trending themes
  • Liaise with Sales, Marketing, Warehouse & Suppliers for communication
  • Prepare artwork for print and attend design meetings, dealing with colour ways, edits and CAD’s
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and find new leads
  • Manage shipping samples approvals, and that all stages of production are smooth and logged in stock management system
  • Check all order confirmations, sales contracts and any documentation is uploaded into system
  • Maintain product price list and MOQ’s for line items are up to date
  • Deal with new products and complete product creation in database
  • Provide quality assurance
  • Maintain complex stock levels for repeated lines, and consolidate figures to provide proof to senior management using forecasting reports
  • Complete and manage sourcing requests including product creation and work closely with customers and sales managers

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience in Purchasing
  • Good knowledge with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word)
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to problem solve and work under pressure
  • Great time management skills and ability to take initiative
