Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a well-established client in North Shields who are looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.

Working in a close-knit team, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Processing new supply purchases and reviewing invoices for accuracy and proper formatting.
  • Creating credit accounts with new suppliers to facilitate payments.
  • Adding new suppliers' details to the system.
  • Processing payments.
  • Calculating VAT owed on purchased items.
  • Tracking the value of impending payments to suppliers.
  • Reconciling supplier statements.
  • Dealing with purchase enquiries.
  • Processing staff expenses.
  • Managing outgoing transactions to ensure they are authorised and processed correctly.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least 2 years' experience in a similar accountancy role.
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team and take direction accurately.
  • Be an analytical thinker and problem solver.
  • Have great administrative skills.
