Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

A primary school in Smethwick is seeking a dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their SEN unit, providing tailored support to a child with complex needs. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the child's educational journey.

Position: Graduate Teaching Assistant (Psychology)
Location: Smethwick
Start Date: September 2024
Duration: Until the end of the academic year
Salay: £80 - £90 per day

Responsibilities:
  • Working on a 1:1 basis with a specific child within the SEN unit.
  • Providing comprehensive support across all aspects of school life to facilitate the child's learning and development.
  • Implementing strategies to address the child's individual needs and promote their academic progress.
  • Collaborating closely with teachers and other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to the child's education.
  • Monitoring the child's progress and adjusting support strategies as necessary.

Requirements:
  • A degree in Psychology or related field.
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with complex needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with children and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and well-being.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the child and the school environment.
