Specialist PROTEIN PURCHASING role for someone with experience in buying within Dairy, fish and Meat. You will have experience in dealing with suppliers, setting up new contracts and will be given the opportunity to hone your expertise in this valuable niche area .

Title:PROTEIN (Fish/dairy/meat) Purchasing Manager
Location: Hybrid role ( 3 days in the office in Buckinghamshire. UK) and flexible working hours
Language required: Fluent English
Sector Food . Non profit
Contract type: permanent role
Salary : up to circa £90,250 (comprised of base salary up to £75,000 + £7,500 bonus and car allowance of £7750 with free breakfast and lunch
International travel required: Yes, occasional

Your role "sits" between your chosen suppliers and your clients and you will have direct personal contact with both.
Duties
Supplier Relationship Management

  • Negotiate contract extensions or new contracts with existing suppliers of alternatives to meat, dairy or fish products
  • Research sustainability and animal welfare issues before engaging with suppliers
  • Visit suppliers across Europe and locally
  • Research and locate new suppliers in Europe and Globally
  • Sourcing NPD items
  • Undertake a risk analysis of this category

Contract Management

  • Work closely Legal and NPD teams
  • Analyse financial quotations from suppliers
  • Ensure that there is accurate allergen, ingredient and nutritional information across all items
  • Undertake benchmarking research for clients

Requirements

  • Car driver to visit suppliers
  • At least 5 years Protein Category experience
