Murray McIntosh is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join a client's team on a contract basis, with responsibilities outlined below.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead structural engineering tasks within multi-discipline EPCM projects in the chemical and petrochemical industry.
  • Assist the procurement team in converting detailed structural steel design packages into procurement documents.
  • Collaborate with the client's engineering team to develop work packages.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of bids from steelwork fabricators.
  • Work with steelwork fabricators to formulate technical queries for the client and Principal Design Engineer.
  • Represent the business in stakeholder meetings.
  • Conduct supplier quality audits at selected steelwork fabrication shops.
  • Ensure the overall quality and accuracy of the steelwork erection program on-site.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a structural engineering role.
  • Solid understanding of project engineering and site interfaces.
  • HND / BSc / BEng / MSc in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
  • Ability to manage multiple work packages.
  • Result-oriented, with personal accountability for results and adherence to project objectives and UK/European Standards & Regulations.
  • Effective collaborator, adaptable to various styles and roles, and encourages team participation.
  • Proficient in identifying impacts on project delivery objectives and implementing change management strategies.
  • Committed to continuous improvement, generating innovative ideas to enhance performance.
  • Prioritize safety, with the capability to develop and approve RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statements).
