TSR Legal are delighted to be assisting a Legal 500 law firm to recruit a Professional Support Lawyer (Private Capital) to join a national law firm with a strong reputation, built on the expertise and passion of their exceptional people.

This firm embraces flexibility, empowering you to work where you perform best while balancing individual needs with collaborative team efforts. Their hybrid work model allows for a combination of remote work and occasional office attendance, with the opportunity to work in the Cardiff or Bristol office.

Role Overview: As a Professional Support Lawyer specialising in Private Capital, covering Lifetime, Probate, Court of Protection, Tax, and Trusts, you will play a key role in supporting the firm's innovative Knowledge Management (KM) strategy. Collaborating with Private Capital Partners and other stakeholders, you will identify, develop, and deliver strategic support to drive business growth.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Your autonomy and responsibility in this role set it apart. Working closely with the Head of Knowledge and Private Capital Partners, your key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying areas of private client work of interest to intermediaries and clients, focusing on issues such as inheritance tax, estate planning, elderly care, court of protection, tax planning, and estate administration.

  • Assessing the practical consequences for clients of any changes in law.

  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to identify and prioritize business needs and develop a KM strategy.

  • Drafting and maintaining standard form precedents, client information sheets, client appointment letters, policy guidance, and practice notes.

  • Encouraging knowledge sharing among lawyers, organising practice group knowledge-sharing meetings.

  • Providing or arranging appropriate training in legal and soft skills.

  • Orchestrating an innovative legal training program in consultation with the Head of Knowledge and Private Capital Partners.

  • Producing monthly legal updates across all Private Capital practice areas.

  • Acting as a trusted advisor to lawyers, offering research, advice, and second opinions on complex legal issues.

  • Supporting the implementation of new legal technology and innovation processes within the practice group.

  • Reviewing client work to introduce process efficiencies and best practices.

  • Setting and supporting the agenda for thought leadership activities and client-facing knowledge initiatives.

  • Writing, editing, and producing a quarterly publication for financial intermediaries.

  • Developing new products for financial intermediaries and clients.

  • Supporting the development and implementation of KM tools and systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified lawyer with substantial experience in Private Capital.
  • Proven track record in KM and a strategic approach to support business growth.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Commercial mindset with a proactive and pragmatic approach.
  • Ability to work independently and shape priorities for the Private Capital practice.
  • Familiarity with legal technology and a commitment to innovation.
