Production Supervisor 

Job Type: Permanent, full time 
Hours:  40-hour week, Monday – Friday 
Salary:  £28,000 - £32,000 DOE - any time worked over hours paid at x 1.5 

Our client is looking for a Production Supervisor to support with the production schedules. liasing with the warehouse regarding stock and managing a small team of 3 people.

This role requires someone who can adapt to change quickly, prioritise jobs coming in last minute and be forthcoming with ideas. Please note that this role is very physically demanding.

Responsibilities for Production Supervisor:

  • Deliver clear instructions/expectations on daily workload in a daily shop floor meeting
  • Monitor production emails throughout the course of each day and action promptly and appropriately
  • Ensure all daily work scheduled is completed in a timely manner and as per job sheets
  • Advise management of any potential problems; also advise the sales team if any problems have the potential to adversely affect the quality or delivery of the product
  • Lead and motivate staff to create a dynamic team, ensuring they are kept up to date with business objectives and matters of health and safety by supporting the Production Manager with regular meetings
  • Identify those persons not performing and assist the manager to plan corrective action
  • Maintain the shop floor in a clean and tidy condition. Ensure close liaison with the Production Manager so that the required standards are maintained and ensure that provision is made during production to 'clean as you go’.
  • Report all machinery issues promptly with regards to maintenance and ensure rapid reaction and rectification of any breakdowns
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements, and that all 'start up checks’ are completed without fail. Liaise where necessary with the Compliance Manager and report all potential problems to the Production Manager
  • Check and always ensure that production is carried out to the quality standards set out by the company and that the finished product meets the requirements of the specifications

Requirements for Production Supervisor:

  • Proven experience as a Production Supervisor would be beneficial
  • Must be aged over 21 for insurance purposes and hold a UK driving license
  • Forklift license would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experience within a Warehouse/Manufacturing/Production environment is essential
  • Excellent attention to detail is key
  • Ability to lead a team 
  • Proactive, positive and eager to learn attitude 
  • Basic Maths skills are essential
