Production Supervisor

Are you an energetic and proactive leader, eager for a fresh opportunity to lead by example?  If so, we are currently recruiting a Production Supervisor for our client based in Milton Keynes.

Location:                    Milton Keynes
Shift Pattern:              0600 – 1500 / 1300 – 2200
Shifts:                        Monday to Friday
Salary:                       £26K - £36K
Type:                         Temp to Perm

As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a food production team to ensure the efficient and timely production of high-quality food products. You will lead a team of production workers, coordinate workflow, enforce safety and sanitation standards, and strive to meet production targets while maintaining product quality. Additionally, you will provide guidance and support to team members, resolve any issues that arise during production, and collaborate with other departments to optimise processes and achieve organizational goals.

Main Responsibilies:
  1. Leadership: Lead, motivate, and supervise a food production team to ensure productivity, adherence to company policies, and achievement of production goals.
  2. Workflow Coordination: Assign tasks, monitor workflow to ensure efficient utilisation of resources and timely completion of production activities.
  3. Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to maintain high standards of product quality, consistency, and safety.
  4. Training and Development: Provide training, guidance, and feedback to team members to enhance their skills, knowledge, and performance in food production processes.
  5. Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures to create a safe working environment for all team members. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any safety concerns promptly.
  6. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, collaborate with procurement and inventory management teams to ensure availability of materials, and minimise waste.
  7. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve production-related issues, such as equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or personnel problems, in a timely and efficient manner.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency enhancements in food production operations. Implement changes and best practices to optimise production processes.
  9. Communication: Maintain open and effective communication channels with team members, supervisors, and other departments to facilitate coordination, problem-solving, and information sharing.
  10. Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation, including production logs, quality control records, and employee performance evaluations.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in production or manufacturing, with at least 1 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Odeally experience in a food production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control standards, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed.
