Production Planning Coordinator

Great starting salary, 33 days holiday, paid overtime, yearly profit related bonus, working days only (No shift work), healthcare, pension, early finish on a Friday.

Working for an international business.The Production Planning Coordinator is primarily responsible for ensuring:

  • Manufactured goods are produced in a cost effectiveway without impacting the necessary quality specifications
  • Goods are distributed in line with customer expectations
  • Positive working relationships with Production to maintain the orderly production and distribution of manufactured goods.
  • Supports continuous improvements within production and distribution processes.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain productions plans based on Sales and Marketing forecasts and inventory levels, that align with customer production schedules
  • Raise, schedule and if required re-schedule production orders to effectively support Material Requirements Planning (MRP) requirements
  • Timely release of production orders to production ensuring plans can be achieved and delivered in line with customer expectations
  • Where required modify production bill of materials (BOM's) to ensure correct material and hours are used up and reported on
  • Facilitate effective communication, liaising with Managers/Team Leaders and support areas to achieve company objectives
  • Communicate production schedules and priorities clearly and effectively to the production team
  • Address and respond quickly with any production disruptions or problems that may delay plan, and liaise with relevant departments, to maintain on-time delivery
  • Collaborate with supervisors and operators to resolve production issues
  • Monitor inventory levels to minimise excess stock and reduce carrying costs
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures all always complied with
  • Analyse customer order fluctuation and provide a demand plan for products manufactured
  • Long and short-term capacity planning
  • Proactively identify, communicate and follow up on significant trends and demand changes to achieve an optimum raw material and finished goods stock holding
  • Work closely with the commercial, production and buying teams to ensure that all orders are met
  • Identify and resolve day to day issues. Taking each case on its own merit, communicate and escalate effectively to both internal and external parties to ensure satisfactory conclusions
  • Managing of sales accounts, entering and maintaining sales orders and utilising and maintaining customer schedules to ensure smooth production and on-time build
  • Management of cabs on site, from request to production line
  • Provide monthly data for management
  • Attend Production planning meetings when required

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a production planning role
  • Ideally SAP knowledge or knowledge of a similar ERP system
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management & priorisationskills, the ability to judge various stakeholders requirements
  • Previous experience liaising with customers
  • An assertive, optimistic, resilient individual who thrives on change and under pressure
  • Ability to work in a fast pacedenvironment
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Excellent Microsoft skills (Word, Excel & Outlook)
