Annual Salary of £35,000

People Solutions are working in partnership with our client, a global market leader with over 50 years manufacturing experience within the metal industry, who are looking for a Production Planner to join their Warehousing department in Birmingham, on a Permanent Full Time basis.

As a Production Planner, you will be Responsible for developing and implementing production, scheduled to meet customer demand and optimize resources.

Day to Day Duties

As a Production Planner your day to day Duties will include:

  • Planning and organizing production schedules
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and procurement teams to gather relevant data for effective production
  • planning.
  • Highlight any capacity constraints or Bottlenecks throughout the business.
  • Monitor inventory, to ensure stock usage is being optimized.
  • Utilize in-house system to maintain accurate production planning.
  • Communicate Production schedules to relevant departments and adjust plans as needed.
  • Evaluate and implement continuous improvement initiative to enhance production processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve production related issues.
  • Review and develop production KPIs.
  • Reviewing monthly production outputs.
  • Control and monitor production related costs to maximize profits
  • Travel may be required to other Facilities

Essential Skills

As a Production Planner, it is essential that you have:

  • Proven experience as a production planner or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing production and processes
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement skills
  • Very good understanding of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong mathematical and IT skills
  • Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy
  • Good understanding of business
  • Ability to adapt in an ever-changing environment

Desirable Experience

It would be Desirable as a Production Planner if you had:

  • Experience within the metal industry

What training is provided?

  • Training in company policy and procedure will be provided to successful candidates
