The Company

Our clients are specialists in the manufacturing sector, due to growth they are looking for a Production Planner.

The Role

  • The candidate will ensure all manufactured parts are planned into production capacities to meet sales order demands and maintain minimum stock levels in line with expected customer service standards.
  • Taking an active role within the department, the candidate will also adopt an approach of continuous improvement, ensuring the department works in a system driven manner, with effective processes and minimal waste.
  • The role is a varied role, required to proactively approach the Planning function to ensure workloads are planned and executed effectively.
  • Ensuring all works orders are planned into production capacities to meet sales order demands and maintain minimum stock levels.
  • Working closely with Customer Services to ensure all orders are planned and confirmed within 24 hours.
  • Handling customer driven sales queries, delivering a prompt and professional response and striving to meet expectations.
  • Handling internal queries relating to planning, supporting and ensuring system accuracy is maintained.
  • Advocating system accuracy, encouraging and supporting discipline in all areas to ensure accurate system data, including due dates and stock figures.
  • Ensuring Sales and Production departments are kept informed of shortages preventing production output and resultant changes to the production plan.
  • Supporting new product introductions.
  • Supporting and implementing engineering changes.
  • Running regular system maintenance to ensure accurate and up-to-date system data.
  • Ensuring the company housekeeping expectation in the office is adhered to at all times.
  • Any other tasks or assignments as requested by the company.

The Person:

  • Previous experience within a fast paced, industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience of carrying out and achieving projects linked to continuous improvements.
  • Calm under pressure.
  • Team worker.
  • IT literate.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Accepts responsibility and takes ownership.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within the business.
