How would you like to work for a Global leading manufacturer? We are working with a well-established client who are looking for a number of multi skilled Production Operatives to join a wonderful team.

Days and shift work available

Pay - £23,796 - £27,000

Responsibilities:

  • Packing of finished material for either stock or customer orders
  • Delivery of materials to workstations (Boxes, layer pads etc.)
  • If trained, support other areas of the manufacturing department (I.e Coating)
  • Participate in Process Improvement activities
  • 5S and housekeeping activities
  • Support and liaise with Customer Service team.
  • To unlock and lock premises when required
  • Manufacture of a wide range of high-performance coated products, coating substrates to a high-quality standard.
  • Operation of large coating machinery.
  • Collecting and safe handling of reels of substrate as detailed on the production programme.
  • Safe collection of solution lacquers for use on coating machines.
  • Clean lacquer vats to a high standard upon completion on the coating machine.
  • Follow safe procedure on cleaning machine upon completion of planned programme.
  • Select and load correct substrates as indicated on the programme.
  • Set up and maintain coating head in readiness for plan.
  • Monitor machine during coating run to ensure high standards of quality are consistently met. (Cell Leader is Accountable, All responsible)
  • Safe and timely removal of completed material.
  • Correct handling and storage of finished material from machine, adhering to any specific storage instructions e.g., strapped, suspended, etc.
  • Clean lacquer vats to a high standard following use on the machine and ensure their safe removal to vat storage area.
  • Safe removal of liquid and solid waste from the production process.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of ancillary items e.g., bags, bars, tape etc.
  • Liaise with QC department to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensuring the smooth running of the machine, i.e., Maintenance, Stores and R&D



What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to drive
  • Previous experience of running conversion machines in paper or similar media industries.
  • Packing in a FMCG environment, desirable.
  • Experience of handling material for storage and/or for packaging
  • Experience of working to production plans.
  • Lean Six Sigma & Problem-solving Experience - Desirable.
  • Green belt - Six Sigma qualification - Desirable.
