Major Players are working with a luxury design and production studio specialising in brand activation and installation projects for global luxury brands. Situated in South London, their expansive 20,000 sq ft studio serves as the hub for all their manufacturing projects. From carpentry to metalwork, spray painting to model making, the in-house team, collaborates to deliver world-class projects.

They are looking for a Production Manager play a pivotal role in these projects, where production forms the core of the business. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in production management, with a proven track record of overseeing projects from inception to completion, as well as having an inquisitive mindset giving them the ability to work on bespoke projects. Essential skills include project timeline management, budget control, and effective coordination of freelance crews.

This role would be an ideal move for someone who has possibly worked in bespoke Visual Merchandising, Theatre Set Production or Pop Up Events/Experiential Production.

Responsibilities:

Planning:

  • Define production approach, costs, and schedules for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate labour and material resources required for production.
  • Collaborate with the technical department to establish detailed build approaches, material specifications, and installation methods.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks throughout the manufacturing and installation phases.
  • Attend and contribute to production meetings, providing comprehensive reports.

Manufacture and Installation:

  • Brief departments and crew members, ensuring adherence to production standards.
  • Monitor labour hours and material costs daily, suggesting adjustments to maintain production targets.
  • Implement quality control measures across various departments, including carpentry, metalwork, spray painting, textiles, assembly, and dispatch.
  • Oversee the setup of displays and builds prior to project departure from production facilities.
  • Coordinate the preparation of site kits, materials, and components specific to assigned projects.
  • Assist in planning installation and logistical requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in production management within a relevant field.
  • Proficient in project management tools and techniques.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of production processes and the ability to approach each project uniquely.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
