JOB TITLE: Production Engineer

LOCATION: Hampshire

SALARY: £25,000 - £36,000. DOE

WAY OF WORKING: Full Time | On-Site | Permanent

THE BUSINESS:

C4S-search are pleased to be partnering with a specialist in Strain Management Systems & Renewable Energy.

THE PRODUCTION ENGINEER OPPORTUNITY:

  • Conduct hands-on planned and preventive maintenance on electrical production equipment to support operations and engineering teams.
  • Build, modify, and commission production equipment.
  • Manage engineering data including parts management, bill of materials (BoMs), routings, specifications, and test requirements.
  • Generate production documentation such as assembly instructions, testing reports, certifications, and process improvement suggestions.
  • Identify, design, build, and implement process and equipment improvements.
  • Provide support and training to technicians and other staff as necessary.
  • Diagnose and determine the root cause of system and component failures.

YOUR KEY SKILLS:

ESSENTIAL:

  • Strong communication and rapport-building skills with the ability to develop relationships with employees and stakeholders at various levels.
  • Relevant electrical and/or electronic engineering qualification (minimum HNC or equivalent required).
  • Experience working with electrical cables, wiring, harnesses, etc.
  • Proficiency in soldering and reworking through-hole and SMD components.
  • Ability to identify faults and debug issues in electronic systems at component, PCB, and system levels using standard test equipment such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Aptitude in fault-finding, problem-solving, and utilizing core skills to install and repair electrical/electronic assemblies to the component level.

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Theoretical or practical experience working with Optical fibre systems.
  • Software & firmware programming experience.
  • Hands on experience designing, testing, validating microcontroller-based PCB designs.
  • Experience working with Arduino, STM32, Teensy or similar microcontrollers.
