Location: Daventry

Shifts: Monday - Friday

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Metalis are partnering with one of the UKs leading Automtive parts manufacturer who specialises in spares and one off custom builds. Our client is looking to fill the role of Production Engineer to develop product, improve process and ensure ambitious targets are met.

This role would suit a candidate from the Automotive industry looking to thrive in an environment which supports collaboration, innovation and professional development.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and introducing new parts to market.
• Follow APQP processes.
• Manage the tooling process introducing new methods of manufacturing.
• Using complicated data sets to spot gaps for improvement.
• Undertake Process Improvements looking at machining, factory layouts and purchasing.
• Manage machining processes looking feed speed, material optimisation etc.
• Support in the training and development of shop floor colleagues.
• Assist in maintenance of machinery updating PPM logs.
• Undertake Project Management duties ensuring product is made to spec, customers informed and upkeeping standards of service/quality.
• Mentor apprentices to ensure completion of courses.
• Work in collaboration with the design teams for feasibility studies pre-manufacturing.

Ideal Experience:

• Coming from an automotive background.
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Time Served in a similar role.
• A strong people leader - able to inspire the next generation.
• Excellent machining knowledge.
• Previous experience leading continuous improvement projects using LEAN methodologies.
• Familiar with APQP process.
• Knowledge of IATF16949

• £35,000 - £45,000
• Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00
