Our client in the Daventry area is looking for a Production Engineer to join their fun and vibrant team due to continued business growth.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a designated portfolio of New Products.
  • Navigate the Production Process meticulously from PA release to J1 +90 days.
  • Adhere strictly to the APQP process guidelines.
  • Execute the MFR process diligently, providing necessary support for APQP documents.
  • Oversee and coordinate the production engineering sections of PRN.
  • Engage in the specification and design of prototype and production tooling.
  • Construct prototype parts.
  • Conduct capacity analysis and translate findings into layout designs and process flows.
  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of in-house and external tooling.
  • Convert process flow to routes, capturing all SC/CC, quality items, and changes throughout development.
  • Supervise the initial pre-production parts.
  • Conduct run at rate assessments and implement process improvements to meet target cycle times.
  • Oversee the production engineering sections of ECRs.
  • Oversee the installation, operation, and performance qualifications.
  • Contribute to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Establish structures/routings for new parts.
  • Lead initiatives for efficiency improvements, embracing a LEAN approach to production.


Required skills & experience:

  • (Essential) Background within an automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of IATF16949
  • Good knowledge of production processes.
  • Either Degree qualified within a Mechanical / Engineering field or relevant experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work as part of a team or independently.
