The Opportunity:
Nigel Wright Recruitment are working with a North-East based, market leading manufacturing business who are looking to recruit an experienced Product Manager. The Product Manager will be responsible for the roadmap for a range of industrial products, ensuring they have long term technical, operational and commercial advantages

Role Profile:
  • Ultimate responsibility for the product roadmap, strategically managing products through the product life cycle, planning for updates and obsoletion
  • Ensuring products have sustainable long-term technical, operational and commercial advantages
  • Perform market and competition analysis
  • Develop a product vision and ensure buy in throughout the company
  • Ensure features and benefits run as “themes” through a brand
  • Prioritise roadmap projects based on data (sales value, savings, or market share)
  • Define technical requirements of new products and provide required specifications to the NPD team
  • Deliver technical aspects of new and updated products to marketing
  • Advise marketing on market and customer trends to guide the creation of marketing tools
  • Support the sales team with training on new products and provide them with competitive mapping
  • Visit customers to assist the sales effort and gather market intelligence
  • Have responsibility for pricing proposals for new and updated products
  • Review pricing annually to increase sales, margins and profitability

Person Specification:
  • Experience of creating a product roadmap and product strategy
  • A proven track record of writing technical specifications for NPD
  • Outstanding ability to communicate ideas and strategy clearly to all levels, internally and externally
  • Experience of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
  • A commitment to self-development and professional development
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive a project forwards
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to get others on board with your vision and thinking
  • Strong decision making, highly organised and methodical
  • Excellent judgement, problem solving and critical thinking
