Product Engineer

Origin Global is a leading manufacturer of bespoke Aluminium Bi-folding Doors and Windows where our products combine high-grade aluminium with precision engineering to create functional products which are design to last. We are looking for a Product Engineer to join our Product Development Team and work towards the development of new products ensuring compliance on our current product range.

The successful candidate will have experience working within a product development/ manufacturing background with strong attention to detail, adept critical thinking and good reporting skills. This role will begin with a lot of hands-on working heading up testing of new products in house and offsite with an accredited test centre.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversee and support New Product Testing and Compliance Testing
• Assist in solving root cause of product non-compliance
• Review and oversee implementation of improvement requests in a technical capacity
• Create and maintain test reports for indicative and Compliance Testing
• Oversee and support prototyping and trial builds for New Product Design and New Product Implementation
• Support operational functions of the business with product launches
• Review and advise on installation details and assist with the writing of install manuals
• Review and advise on manufacturing processes, machinery and equipment
• Support SHEQ with ensuring documentation is complete for quality and advise on potential H&S concerns due to NPD/NPI

Knowledge / Experience

• Industry experience heavily advantageous but not required
• CAD skills having used either 2D or 3D CAD is desirable
• Experience in design process procedures and NPD
• Mechanical design principals
• Fabrication/Assembly techniques
• HNC/HND/Degree (or higher) in Engineering or equivalent relevant subject (or proof of capabilities)
