Job title: Procurement Specialist

Location: Selby or Glasgow

Duration: 6 months

The role:

As the Procurement Specialist, you will undertake effective tendering, negotiation, contract management and supplier relationships.

You will work collaboratively with internal colleagues ensuring procure to pay processes and policies are operating effectively.

Responsibilities:

· Deliver strategic sourcing initiatives globally to support delivery of the required business strategies. Ensure early procurement engagement.

· Manage tender processes from specification/need identification through to contract award ensuring good Procure to Pay (P2P) regimes following contract award.

· Responsible for meeting key project procurement strategy milestones and delivering against mutually agreed time frames and plans.

· Ensure compliance with relevant governance, regulatory requirements, and legislation at all times.

· Work closely with Procurement performance team to ensure data and reporting including monitoring external industry developments are effectively utilised.

Requirements:

· Strong technical procurement skills linked with ability to drive best practice and innovation.

· Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to proactively challenge stakeholders and demand.

· Degree qualified preferred but not essential

· Experience within contract negotiations

· Understanding of contract terms and conditions

· A self-starter with a 'can do/will do' attitude who has the energy, drive and commitment to make things happen.

· Shows resilience and able to navigate complex challenges & deal with ambiguity.
