Procurement Programme Delivery Lead - £650 PD Inside IR35 - Worthing (Hybrid) - Contract

Our utilities client is currently seeking a Procurement Programme Delivery Lead to join their team on a contact for 3 months initially. This will be a hybrid role and you will be required to come into the office 1-2 days a week. They are looking for someone to take the lead in governing programmes of procurement and commercial activities. This is a senior role and will engage regularly with Heads of Function, Directors and Executives from across the business. The role holder will also work closely with our procurement and commercial teams, delivery partners and the business to make sure that we have the right level of detail and understanding in our plans to enable success.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day drum beat of our Procurement transformation programme, ensuring that delivery is on track against our different workstreams and initiatives, taking ownership for ensuring that communication is flowing across the various programme elements to drive informed decision making. You will be accountable for programme governance (both quality and timeliness) and for ensuring that our business stakeholders are kept engaged and informed on what's happening across the programme.

Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with programme and workstream leads, and initiative owners to establish and govern activities for delivery.
  • Ensuring that project documentation is up to date and that its contents is driving cross-functional thinking and informed decision making by both facilitating and driving the necessary conversations within the programme team and wider business.
  • Supporting updates to senior stakeholders up to and including board level executives, and so you will have spent time diving deep across your programme, ensuring you know the detail.
  • Planning, plotting how and when to best communicate key messages from your programme out to the business and who to engage, when.
  • Managing any critical programme level risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Unblocking and unlocking any bottlenecks in decision making, resource management or technical understanding by working effectively with your programme team.
  • Working with a cross functional team of SME's, leaders and change agents to make this hugely important programme a success.


About you:

  • Have an understanding of procurement and supply chain management
  • Experience of working in either operational or capital delivery, so that you can understand the detail.
  • Have confident communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills, and excellent planning and organising skills.
  • Strong negotiating and conflict management skills.
  • Have experience using WAVE
  • Have Prince 2, APM or any equivalent project management qualification, however if you're working towards a qualification or would like to, they cannot support on this.
  • Able to demonstrate experience of leading and managing change in a similar environment.
