PROCUREMENT OFFICER 

WHAT’S THE ROLE

To support the Procurement Manager with the development and delivery of a high quality and cost-effective procurement and contract management services, deputising for the Procurement Manager as and when required. To support the Procurement Manager in ensuring compliance with all internal Procurement Policy and Finance Regulations, the Procurement Strategy, and all other appropriate policies along with UK legislation. To lead on procurement activities where directed, developing your existing Procurement experience. Uphold ethical standards and promote transparency and fairness in all procurement processes and maximise ongoing efficiencies and savings through robust procurement and contract management practices.

WHAT YOU'LL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

Leading on the full procurement life cycle of tenders and quotes and contributing to all aspects of the tender process.

Supporting the business in contract management, innovation, value for money and continuous improvement by building on supplier relationships and through the proactive management of services.

Supporting the business by identifying procurement opportunities through category management.

Supporting the Procurement Manager with the development and implementation of operational objectives contributing towards the effective delivery of the Procurement Strategy.

Supporting the Procurement Manager with the training of stakeholders across the business and raising awareness of the procurement function.

Staying abreast of supplier market trends, pricing, framework availability.

Conducting research to identify potential suppliers and specifications.

Preparing procurement KPI’s that assist in identifying areas for improvement and support decision-making.

Being responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and administration of the e-procurement system.

To maintain and update the procurement pages on the intranet and website.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE

Relevant professional qualification or working towards CIPS Diploma in Procurement and Supply or appropriate level of experience.

Knowledge of UK Procurement Legislation

Able to work as part of a team and proactively manage own workload.

To be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels across the business, and with external stakeholders.

Excellent knowledge and use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).

Good analytical skills, including the ability to analyse information and provide meaningful and accurate reports.

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure, delivering to strict deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.

Be open to new ideas, challenge the status quo and create innovative solutions.

DESIRABLE

Experience of working within the housing / public sector.

Comprehensive understanding of Public Sector Procurement processes, including contractual documentation and governance requirements.
