Job title: Procurement Manager

Location: Welwyn Garden City or Slough

Duration: 3 months initially

The role:

Your role will be to provide Procurement support to the wider business. You will be responsible for driving competitive advantage via Business and Procurement strategy across a breadth of 'Not for Retail Products and Services' (mostly 'Services'). You will ensure that we deliver best in class services and value for our customers, contributing to the business being able to out-perform other networks. This role offers the opportunity to experience a varied workload, one with a fast moving and continuously changing portfolio, from simple low-ticket products through to multi-million complex IT platforms and managed services contracts.

Responsibilities:

· Planning, and execution of Procurement deliverables

· Leading competitive tenders (RFI/RFQ's), engaging cross-functional teams and colleagues.

· Leading commercial and contractual negotiations with suppliers.

· Contract Drafting

· Reducing business risk by embedding greater Procurement rigour across the organisation.

· The ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to understand business requirements.

· Responsibility for the development and maintenance of long-term relationships with key strategic suppliers, and the ability to identify the movers and shakers in sector, potential new partners within categories of responsibility.

· Supporting the pipeline of planned Procurement activity (savings opportunities, renewals and projects).

· Ability to manage and resolve vendor disputes.

· Providing support to the business to enable timely delivery of wider objectives.

Requirements:

· A strong team player, our success is dependent on each other, transparency, good communication skills, personal integrity are all key.

· Proven track record within Procurement.

· Outstanding negotiating skills.

· Be results focused, a starter/finisher.

· A sound knowledge of core Legal contractual terms, and experience of negotiating and delivering complex contracts.

· Ability to work both autonomously when required, as well as part of a team.

· Excellent influencing skills.

· A high level of professional stature, with the ability to act as an ambassador for the business both internally and externally, with the ability to establish personal credibility quickly internally with all levels of management.

· IT literacy - Excel and other MS packages.

· MCIPS would be advantageous, but candidates with relevant experience will would also be welcome.

· Ability to prioritise and manage workload.
