Procurement Manager - Food

Quest Search & Selection are partnering with this leadingfood buying & procurement organisation based in the UK.

Their clients will include foodservice sites and hospitality partners who would purchase food, ingredients and everything in-between! This business work closely with their clients to deliver expert procurement services saving them both time and money whilst offering a unique purchasing power.

This role in is lead the food strategy to oversee that the business are supplying the right products and services, at the right price, whilst supporting other key priorities around Net Zero, Quality Supply Chain & work within their CSR targets .

The responsibilities of this Procurement Manager - Food position -

• To assist the Category Managers and Leads to proactively manage the supply base to drive buying efficiencies.
• Ensures the safe and ethical sourcing of great products and services
• Oversee all tenders and contract and looking at commercial improvements and negoitations
• Negotiating with internal stakeholders to get the most commercial categories for their departments
• Help move the business forward for their supply chain integrity,
• This role will push the boundaries of how they approach sourcing & focusing on driving improvements.
• Coaching and developing and influencing where needed and lead 1 category Buyer.
• Complying with internal governance and external audits
• Collaborating to help identify future opportunities for value creation
• Identify market trends and insight around best in class procurement and apply learnings to their approach

The experience requiredfor this Procurement Manager - Food position -

• You mush have 3 years + experience with Buying, Supply Cain Purchasing or Procurement experience within a supermarket, convenience, foodservice, manufacturing or retail environment is ideal
• Working knowledge of end-to-end supply chain
• Proven ability to reduce cost & the demonstration of strategic procurement decision making
• Versatile influencer, not afraid to challenge across all levels of seniority
• Evidence of an ability to work cross-functionally
• management or leadership experience would be desirable
• You must be a good communicator that is confident to deal with internal & external stakeholders
• Analytical in your approach and be able to happy to deal with trading reports
