Procurement Coordinator Overview:

As a Procurement Coordinator, you will be a key player in our client’s Procurement department, contributing significantly to the achievement of the company's overall objectives. Your role involves diverse responsibilities, including procurement, inventory planning, strategic inventory management, and cost-saving initiatives, all aimed at ensuring 100% on-time and complete delivery while optimizing quality, service, cost, and inventory.

Procurement Coordinator Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Develop strong relationships with assigned suppliers, emphasizing 'best product - best price' with on-time delivery.
  • Understand tooling, capacity, and inventory requirements for all assigned suppliers and maintain strategic inventory levels and report product availability and inventory.
  • Raise purchase orders and manage on-time delivery of required inventory and communicate changes to purchase orders to internal teams.
  • Keep the internal MRP system up to date with all purchase orders and ensure 100% accuracy.
  • Conduct quarterly KPI reviews with suppliers, implementing action plans when necessary.
  • Issue formal tenders to suppliers as needed and negotiate cost reductions.
  • Evaluate and assess all suppliers in terms of quality, delivery, communication, cost, added value, and innovation.
  • Implement contingency options to address any supply chain issues.
  • Participate in online item forecasting meetings with the Purchasing Manager.
  • Weekly update of supplier KPIs to report to the Purchasing Manager.
  • Report on quality cases related to service and product.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records for Procurement, Finance, Transportation, and Customer Service departments.
  • Manage formal supplier relationships and evaluate vendors and negotiate costs to achieve cost reductions in alignment with the strategic plan set by the Purchasing Manager.
  • Track supplier performance.
  • Identify, visit, assess, and onboard new vendors.

Procurement Coordinator Core Competencies:

  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Excel - Intermediate to advanced level.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience and knowledge of buying/sourcing, ideally from a manufacturing environment working with raw materials such as metals, plastics or injection molding.
  • Ability to understand Engineering drawings for internal and external discussions.
  • Proficiency in managing and understanding cross-cultural business practices.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, and time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to lead and influence change amid complexity.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Highly motivated self starter.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
