Procurement Business Partner

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this is a senior position that will be managing high profile suppliers and contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage contract renewals through collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Lead the evaluation of optimal sourcing and pricing options, taking into consideration outsourcing, hybrid and insourcing models.
  • Co-creation of Strategic Supplier Strategies with stakeholders.
  • Conducting vendor/market intelligence gathering activities to be highly aware of the suppliers' future plans, financial performance and market positioning.
  • Identify, manage and minimise/mitigate supplier and contractual risk through in-life contract management activities.
  • Operating as the Procurement single point of contact for stakeholders and support with supplier disputes or poor supplier performance.
  • Lead the development of vendor specific management/negotiation plans.
  • Lead the procurement of new services (tender process, negotiating with suppliers, drafting contracts and schedules) proving commerciality and value for money.
  • Collaborating closely with Business Stakeholders, Business Risk, IT
  • Security, Architecture, PMO and Legal Services.
  • Support the team with business engagement activities to raise the team profile.

  • Relevant industry, Legal or MCIPS qualification or working towards this.

  • Facilities - Maintenance and Repairs, Cleaning, Site Security, Health and Safety, Utilities and Energy, Waste Management, Real Estate Management.
  • Marketing - Creative campaigns, Advertising and Media Buying, digital services, Market Research, Branding, Public Relations, Meetings and Events.
  • Professional Services and Consulting - Insurances, Legal, Accounting, Engineering Services and Construction (M&E, Civils).
  • Scheme Partners - specialist suppliers that are critical in supporting us to delivering a 'worry free' scheme for our customers. Includes insurance, servicing, tyres and breakdown services (not limited to the Partners found here). Includes working with innovative startups in the EV accessibility and charging space.

  • ESG/Sustainable sourcing.
  • Agile sourcing.
  • Supplier Diversity sourcing.
  • Strong ability in understanding supplier financial statements.
  • Gen AI in Procurement.
  • Data Analytics.

About the team:

The Procurement team was set up in October 2023 and sits within the

Business Risk reporting line as part of the wider Finance Division.

Previously there was no centralised team and only an IT Procurement team reporting into IT, so the remit has expanded which is positive. It is an exciting time to join as part of a new team as they aspire to be a best-in-class function.

The Procurment team are a close team that supports each other through their psychological safety net culture. There is also the opportunity for further training and development in the post.
