Process Engineer

Job Purpose

Process Engineer proficient in Physics or an Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronics, etc.) discipline to join us. We are seeking a dedicated individual who has hands-on experience, can demonstrate data analysis abilities, demonstrable expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) or modelling. This crucial role will drive process optimization, efficiency enhancement, and data conversion into insightful knowledge. As part of our team, you will play a significant role in advancing our site towards our ambitious Industry 4.0 goals

Primary Responsibilities

Hands-On Process Optimization & Advancement Towards Industry 4.0:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to spot and exploit opportunities for process optimization, reducing costs, and enhancing quality.
  • Participate actively in practical aspects of process innovation and improvements, from troubleshooting to testing and actual implementation.
  • Use Lean Six Sigma and other effective methodologies to streamline workflows, augment throughput, and contain wastes
  • Contribute to the site's Industry 4.0 set-goals by driving digitization, automation, and data integration projects.
  • Actively participate in the formulation and implementation of best practices, thereby promoting continuous improvement

Data acquisition, Analysis, and Insight Generation:

  • Collect and assess process-related data from various sources such as sensors, log files, and production systems.
  • Employ statistical models and data analysis techniques to reveal trends, patterns, and irregularities.
  • Create data visualizations and reports to communicate complex data insights for aiding data-driven decision-making.
  • Apply your expertise to identify and install appropriate sensors that function optimally under high-temperature conditions.
  • Stay updated with the latest sensor technologies for high-temperature operations.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning through documentation, presentations, and organizing Training and Development sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Physics or Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronics, etc.)

Desirable Skills:

  • CFD Modelling and Simulation:
  • Utilize CFD software for creating models and simulations of fluid flow, heat transfer, and related processes.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations for process enhancements based on an analysis of CFD results.
  • Ideally demonstrable experience with CFD modelling and simulations through industry-standard software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL).

Skills for the role

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (Python, R, MATLAB, etc.).
  • A thorough understanding of sensor technologies suitable for high-temperature environments.
  • Demonstrable experience in hands-on engineering and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods for data analysis and visualization techniques.
  • Experience in adopting Lean Six Sigma or other process optimization methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of Industry 4.0 principles and its successful application.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills.
  • Results orientated, self-motivated with an ability provide solutions and to evaluate and take risks.
  • Entrepreneurial with an affinity for problem solving and innovation
  • Planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong agility to work under pressure with tight timelines.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams
