Job role: Principle Engineer

Salary: £55,000-£80,000 DOE

Location: Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire

Hours: 9.00-17.30 Monday to Friday

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

The Company:

Interaction Technical have partnered with a well-established developer and manufacturer of specialist technology for the construction industry on ther search for an experience principle engineer to join their growing team. Our client is based in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire and due to rapid growth, they are looking to expand their design and engineering teams. The Benefits:

The Role:

· Manage engineering projects by planning resources, programming, reviewing designs and setting deliverables and targets, ensuring these are met on time and within budget.

· Complete conceptual and detailed designs of construction methods and temporary structures, ensuring these designs are carried out to Eurocode standards, preparing these designs by hand or by using CAD packages (Autodesk, AutoCAD and/or Inventor).

· Liaising and offering technical support to various project stakeholders and client on technical matters.

· Work closely with the established teams of CAD Technicians and Engineers on site, ensuring that all work is carried out within the requirements of Company Management Systems (ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001).

· Supervise and lead the CAD team to produce 3D models and manufacturing drawings, offering mentoring and training where required.

· Prepare tender designs and estimates.

· Using computer programs LUSAS and STAAD Pro, carry out analysis review of structures.

· Prepare technical documentation (project design statements, risk assessments and engineering method statements), as well as logging all design calculations to ensure projects fit within budget.

The Requirements:

· Chartered engineer qualified to degree level in Civil/Structural Engineering (essential)

· 10 years+ experience within analysis and design of structures - preferably in steel (essential)

· Proven ability and experience to lead and manage teams within the structural industry (essential)

· Strong knowledge and experience in the use of Eurocodes for design (essential)

· Construction and temporary works industry experience and knowledge (essential)

· Knowledge and experience in the use of CAD packages (advantageous)

· Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic equipment (advantageous)

· Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001 and experience in company management systems (advantageous)
