This Principal Surveyor role within the Property team will lead a small team of surveyors and administrators undertaking Estate Management for the London region within Thames Water’s corporate real estate portfolio.
Leading and driving the property estates strategy for their regionalised portfolio and leading on any associated property services to support the Utility and other TW businesses as necessary, Principal Surveyors ensure that Thames Water’s interests are always protected, and the best value is obtained for Thames Water and our customers.
What you’ll be doing as a Principal Estates Surveyor
  • Appointing, briefing, and managing Thames Water Legal Team where required.
  • Actively protecting, managing, and enhancing Thames Water’s reputation with internal as well as external customers and stakeholders
  • Work with key partners within the business to ensure service delivery matches the business’ requirements where possible in all areas.
  • Manage and work collaboratively with other functions of the Property, Estates Tideway and Trinzic teams.
  • Programme manages a portfolio of Estate Management activities on time, within budget and delivering demonstrable benefit to the Property, Estates and Tideway function.
  • Accurate and timely reporting of budgets and forecasts for delivering the service.
  • Provide management, leadership, and development of people in a culture of accountability and achievement.
  • Actively protect, manage, and enhance the reputation of the Property, Estates and Tideway function and the wider Thames Water business to external customers and stakeholders.
  • Base Location: Reading - Hybrid.
  • Working Pattern or hours: 36 Hours.
What you should bring to the role
  • Experience in commercial real estate.
  • Experience in leading cross-business and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Management of a large and diverse property portfolio.
  • Strong technical understanding of corporate real estate and property surveying.
  • Strong and demonstrable numeric and analytical skills.
  • Property or Corporate Real Estate (MRICS or equivalent) qualification is essential.
  • Strong presentation skills.
