Job title: Principal Ecologist
Salary: £40,000 - £53,000
Location: Northumberland
We are working with a well-established Ecological Consultancy based in Northumberland. With a rich history spanning over two decades, they are in a position for a Principal Ecologist to add to the team and continue to drive the success of the business.
As a Principal Ecologist, you will play a pivotal role in the team. Your work will involve leading projects from inception to completion. Beyond technical consulting, you'll also line manage a small team of Ecologists.
As a Principal Ecologist, you'll receive a comprehensive benefits package, including:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Hold at least a level 1 Bat or GCN licence
- Be confident at high-level project management
- Strong botanical knowledge
- Experience with GIS (ideally QGIS) and excellent IT skills
- Full membership of CIEEM, and Chartership (or be working towards it)
- Effective client communication skills
- Experience quoting bids and tenders
- In-depth understanding of UK and EU protected species and planning legislation
- In-depth knowledge of BNG metrics
- Collaborative team player with ambition and drive
- Experienced team leader
- Hold a valid full driving licence
