My client

My client is a leading player in the commercial construction sector, specialising within commercial, Education and other sectors. With a track record of delivering exceptional results for their clients, we are dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and excellence in everything we do.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a skilled Principle Designer to join my clients team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design and engineering, with a keen understanding of health and safety principles. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all designs meet the necessary health and safety requirements. You will work closely with their design team to integrate health and safety considerations into every stage of the design process, from initial concept development to final implementation.

  • Collaborate with design team members to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Attend design meetings to provide expertise on health and safety considerations.
  • Identify potential health and safety risks associated with design proposals and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and ensure that all designs comply with relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to address health and safety concerns and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and best practices related to health and safety in design and construction

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a design role with a focus on health and safety.
  • Strong understanding of relevant health and safety regulations and standards, such as CDM regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Certification as a CDM Coordinator or similar qualification is preferred but not required.
