Cedar are pleased to be supporting with the recruitment of a Principal Category Manager, to work for a leading Public Sector framework Provider.

You will be in charge of managing a team of two, along with a series of framework Agreements within the Construction & Estates category. You'll be responsible for developing category strategies across the client base and leading on the delivery of a number of procurement projects.

The role is predominantly REMOTE working with adhoc travel required into the North West.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with internal teams to ensure robust strategies in the delivery of portfolio framework agreements.
  • Develops effective measurement to evaluate the quality of products and services.
  • Undertakes market research to drive change and innovative procurement Initiates
  • Works with other government agencies and public sector bodies to provide support on construction related tenders across areas
  • Develops, maintains, and manages professional relationships across internal and external stakeholders
  • Liaises with colleagues at all levels to ensure compliance in the use of framework agreements.
  • Leads multiple programmes and develops collaborative relationship management regimes with public sector suppliers, ensuring maximum return on investment across the Public Sector
  • Manages 1-2 reports at Category Manager and Category Buyer level and enables staff to deliver, enhance expertise and build procurement
  • Assist in the review of the procurement function, legal updates and governance

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience of managing end to end procurements across construction category within the public sector is essential (PCR2015)
  • Experience of supporting with Category plans, Governance and Procurement pipelines
  • Experience of using construction contracts such as JCT Design & Build 2016, NEC 3 or NEC 4
