  • Salary: £31,350 - £46,179 per year (M1 - UPS2 Fringe) Plus £5,000 Welcome bonus*
  • Location: Leatherhead, Surrey
  • Contract: Full-time, Permanent
  • Hours: 40 hours per week

We are inviting a passionate Primary Teacher to join our team at a supportive SEN school. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning to students aged between 6 – 16 with communication and social interaction difficulties, typically associated with Autism.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, considering the educational, physical, and social needs of the students.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Utilise various planning frameworks to deliver the curriculum effectively.
  • Set, monitor, and review personalised targets to optimise each student’s learning.
  • Assess, review, and report on student progress to relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop lesson plans with a reflective approach to teaching outcomes.
  • Contribute to the review of Statements, EHC plans, PEP, and LAC reviews.
  • Maintain structured lessons with pace, motivation, and challenge.
  • Stay informed on current issues in the field of autism to plan effective teaching and learning.
  • Work in a non-confrontational manner, ensuring individual student needs are met.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience of teaching secondary age in a primary manner is desirable.
  • Ability to teach across a range of subjects.
  • Knowledge and experience with ASD, SEMH, and PDA profile students.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Experience managing a range of behavioural approaches, including behaviours that challenge.
