SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Bexley, London
  • Contract Type: Temporary (Term-time only, 39 weeks)
  • Salary: Competitive

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant SEN school in Bexley. This role is crucial in providing 1:1 support to named children, working closely with the Class Teacher and SENCO to ensure the best educational outcomes for students with special educational needs.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide tailored 1:1 assistance to meet the individual needs of identified students.
  • Implement strategies to support positive behaviour and engagement in the classroom.
  • Assist with lesson delivery, ensuring students can access the curriculum effectively.
  • Provide support with personal care tasks as required, maintaining dignity and respect for the student.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is essential.
  • Familiarity with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and other SEN conditions.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support are desirable but not mandatory.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Empathy: Ability to connect with students and understand their unique challenges.
  • Patience: A patient and compassionate approach to working with SEN students.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to different learning styles and individual requirements.
