SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Bexley, London
  • Contract Type: Temporary, Term-Time Only (39 weeks)
  • Salary: Bexley 05

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) and thrives in a collaborative educational environment. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on the lives of students with SEN by providing tailored support and fostering an inclusive learning atmosphere.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver targeted support to named children with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Support students during classroom activities to encourage full participation and engagement.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Liaise with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Experience working in a primary educational setting.
  • Proficient use of ICT to support learning, as well as familiarity with other equipment and technology.
  • A solid understanding of child development and learning processes.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults and work effectively within a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents
