Position Summary:

Reporting into the UK Finance Director you will be responsible for Pricing and the guardianship of gross margin for the UK business. You will work closely with stakeholders in the Finance, Sales and Supply Chain teams, to review and analyse current pricing processes, and identify and implement improvements. You will create and administer a governance framework around pricing activities ensuring the accuracy of data in the enterprise SAP system and providing greater understanding and transparency around gross margin drivers.  
 

You will collaborate with colleagues across the wider business to optimize gross profitability, mitigate margin erosion risk, improve supplier performance, provide commercial performance updates and explore creative innovative ways to deliver additional margin for the business, and enhance the MWI Animal Health brand.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Pricing:

  • Create and maintain Pricing policies to support strategy
  • Create and maintain Pricing Governance Framework
  • Review and improve all Pricing related processes
  • Maintain Manufacturer margin information and actively feedback rankings targeting purchasing mix to achieve optimal margin
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement pricing changes and promotions.
  • Monitor pricing performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate SAP pricing tools with the company’s website and other digital platforms.
  • Managing the pricing functionality within the SAP system for the organization.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of pricing data in the SAP system, and consistent with the organizations pricing policies and strategies.
  • Collaborating with supply chain, procurement, sales, and finance teams to ensure pricing strategies are effectively implemented.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on pricing policies, procedures and tools.

Forecasting, Planning & Data Analysis

  • Analyse historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities to business and recommends strategies to achieve financial goals.
  • Develop sales projections and Drive financial results that maximize sales, inventory and bottom line profitability
  • Manage and maintain a monthly report, listing all price rises / changes and the impact on margin, formally reviewing with key internal stakeholders.
  • Analyse and reflect current trends in performance of strategy based on actual sales performance; revise in-season plans for sales and profitability
  • Exhibit initiative to look beyond the everyday business to look for opportunities to maximize sales potential
  • Collaborate with the supply chain and procurement teams Make recommendations for key financial meetings/decisions in order to maximize sales, margin and inventory productivity
  • Build Customer / Manufacturer profitability analysis in tandem with FP&A team

  • Understand the Companies standard operating procedures and attend training sessions as appropriate.

Experience, skills and knowledge requirements:

  • Previous exposure to Pricing / Profitability focused roles
  • Commercial mindset
  • Knowledge of current business systems required, specifically SAP
  • Strong business partnering skills
  • Excellent Problem solving and Analytical skills coupled with an enquiring mind and the courage to support change
  • Skilled with Microsoft Excel
  • Accurate and numerate, with attention to detail
  • First class communication skills

What your background should look like 

Qualifications

  • B.A./B.S., preferably in business/finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-3 year’s work experience in a related industry preferred
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel as well as Proficiency in other Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, flexibility, organizational and interpersonal skills, team-oriented and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and understand and carry out detailed instruction and the ability to work concurrently on several projects, each with specific instructions that may differ from project to projectAbility to perform several tasks simultaneously to
