Job Opportunity: Teacher Assistant in Shepton Mallet

Location: Shepton Mallet, Somerset

Role Overview: As a Teacher Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support the learning and development of students. Your responsibilities will include assisting with classroom activities, providing one-on-one support to students, helping with lesson preparations, and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to implement lesson plans and educational activities.
  • Provide individualised support to students who require additional assistance.
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Supervise students during class activities and outings.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for education and working with children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ideally, access to a car for commuting to Shepton Mallet.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
