Press Break Operator

GI Group are looking for an experienced Press Break Settler/Operator based in Saint Annes.

Job details:
Monday to Thursday
6PM - 6 AM

Day Rate: £15 per hour
Night Rate: £18 per hour

For this role you will be working individually and on occasions as part of a team to operate a range of machinery to produce a variety of metal materials with manual and automated equipment, to a high quality standard meeting hourly production targets.

Key Responsibilities:
* Maintaining high quality standards at all times for standard and bespoke products
* Proactive communication with supervisors, managers and Quality Control regarding production,
quality and H&S issues.
* Maintaining a clean and tidy work area
* Maintaining H&S standards following instructions and wearing of appropriate PPE

General Requirements
* Previous experience of working in engineering sheet metal production, setting and operating CNC
press-brakes
* Regular quality checks
* Following internal processes
* Completing paperwork
* Understanding of basic IT

Qualifications/Courses/Experience:
* Previous experience of Trumpf machines
* Previous experience of using measuring equipment
* Practical awareness of lean manufacturing and understanding of 5S activities
* Understanding of Engineering drawings

Essential Skills:
* Able to work under own initiative and on occasion under pressure whilst adhering to strict deadlines
and demands
* Strong problem solving skills
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
* Operational Fault Finding and problem solving
* Work independently and part of a team.
* Manual dexterity
* Demonstrate commercial awareness
* Manage self, working/assisting colleagues obtaining their involvement and buy in
* Effective contribution
