Prep Room Operative

We are looking for an experienced Prep Room Operative for one of our clients based in Gosport on a full-time, permanent basis.

Shifts: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, 12:00pm – 10:00pm (10 hours per day, 4 days per week: 40 hours per week)

Salary: £12.00 - £12.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete orders in the prep room facility, including cutting, washing, weighing, bagging up, and labelling products.
• Adhere to specific product specifications, ensuring accuracy in weight, cutting methods, and packaging.
• Label products accurately, including respective allergen information, to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
• Maintain records of waste and track all stock taken for orders for cost transfer and traceability purposes.
• Understand and follow HACCP/SALSA procedures and utilize stock rotation systems (FIFO) effectively.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a food preparation environment, such as a prep room, kitchen, or similar role, is essential.
• Good handling of food products and a strong attention to detail.
• Possess Food Hygiene Level 2 certification and Allergen training.
• Familiarity with HACCP/SALSA procedures is preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a wet and cold environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
