Pre Construction Manager – Bristol
An opportunity has arisen to join a leading construction main contractor for a Pre-Construction Manager. You will be responsible for all preconstruction activities, including preliminary budgets, value engineering, preconstruction schedules, definition of bid package scopes etc as well as initiating and leading tasks and processes, taking responsibility and being accountable, where relevant, for the work and roles of others whilst exercising broad autonomy and judgement within broad parameters in their area of responsibility. This contractor undertakes a variety of projects inclusive of Education, Student Accommodation, Healthcare and Defence.

Responsibilities:
  • Receive tender enquiries, prepare and conduct tender launches including briefings to Regional Directors
  • Evaluate and act upon the tender information to develop an appropriate bid strategy with the other members of the bid team incorporating design, construction and commercial aspects to ensure ultimate success
  • Manage the tender process including SHEQ, Design, Planning, Operational, Commercial, Estimating, Proposals, Supply Chain, Digital Engineering and any other department as required to properly complete any part of a bid and secure a project
  • Manage the bid team, including appointing owners and timetable for tender deliverables
  • Responsibility for the quality of the final tender submission, including red reviews and editing
  • Work with the estimating team to ensure a well-considered and accurate net price is achieved
  • Prepare tender risk register and identify risks and opportunities ensuring that they are addressed within the register
  • Liaise with Business Development team and Regional Directors to identify and target suitable prospective clients, designers and bid opportunities
