PR Specialist - Global Law Firm

This is an exciting opportunity for a communications specialist to join the friendly, ambitious and fast-paced PR team of a global law firm to support the Associate Director in their efforts to promote the firm across the EMEA region.

This will be a very interesting and diverse role supporting a broad range of PR and communications across the firm's legal practices and supporting the firm’s own regional and global corporate activities including talent, diversity, pro bono and innovation initiatives. The role holder will liaise with people at all levels across the firm and with clients and other external parties including PR agencies. Acting as a day-to-day point of contact with the press, you will routinely meet and interact with members of the press to establish and maintain key working relationships, building relationships and engaging with key reporters and editors at relevant media outlets and identifying opportunities to connect media contacts to partners of the firm. The PR Specialist will need to monitor editorial calendars of relevant publications and communicate and recommend opportunities to raise the visibility of the firm and help to identify and research opportunities in the media to communicate the firm’s messaging in support of firm and practice strategies. Actively generating and seeking story ideas and angles, the successful applicant will write press releases, pitches, articles and other communications materials for use with the media and coordinate interviews and meetings with reporters and lawyers, working with lawyers to prepare for media interviews and advising on press response techniques.

You will be degree educated or equivalent with relevant hands-on experience in an in-house public relations role, gained within a law firm. The firm are preferably looking for an ambitious PR Coordinator who is ready to take a step up to PR Specialist level. Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail and exceptional oral and written communication skills, you will be a proactive team player who enjoys working under pressure and to tight deadlines. Candidate must also have significant UK media contacts, including UK legal media contacts as well as national and trade media, and a proven ability to manage those relationships and to deal with complex subject matter. The ability to speak French would also be advantageous.
