PPAP Engineer

£28,000 to £35,000 dependent on experience

Mon - Thur 7.30am - 4.30pm, Fri - 7.30am - 12pm / 38.5 Hours per Week

Duties

• Verification of new products received prior to submission to customer
• Interpreting drawings and specifications in order to understand acceptance criteria
• Competently use inspection equipment such as micrometers, callipers, Keyence IM machines, thread ring and plug gauges, to verify dimensional conformance of products
• Reviewing for acceptance of all supplier submitted documentation
• Liaising with suppliers and Supplier Quality Engineer where errors, omissions or concerns are found with supplier provided samples or documentation
• Compiling and consolidation of all relevant documentation required for a robust PPAP
• Submission of validated Level 3 PAPP to customers
• Supporting SQE, Technical Assistance and NPI where appropriate
• Associated filing and administration tasks

Experience

• Must be from an engineering background
• Be competent in the use of general inspection equipment
• Knowledge and understanding in the use of CMM
• To understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
• Knowledge and understanding 3D CAD models & Software
• Demonstrate high attention to detail.
• Have a good understanding of Automotive tools such as PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, Gauge R & R, IMDS and APQP.
• Must be IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Be flexible and adaptable to the demands of the role.
