The School of Business and Management is internationally recognised for research and teaching. The School seeks to sustain and enhance a distinctive research and teaching profile and ensure a supportive and intellectually challenging business and management environment.

The post holder will respond to and plan for the growing demands of the School’s staff and increasing student expectations in relation to programme administration.

Job purpose

To be a member of the professional support staff in the School of Business and Management, responsible for delivering administrative support for the taught programmes, engaging with students, academic Module Organisers, teaching teams and Programme Directors.

The primary goal is to manage and coordinate student administration systems and processes to enhance the student-academic cycle of activities, and to develop data driven solutions to enhance the delivery of programmes. Programme Administrators may be called upon to support meetings of the Staff Student Liaison Committee, and of the School’s Teaching Groups, to support improvements in programme delivery.

Ideally you will have the following :

Proven record of administrative experience in the Higher Education sector or educational private sector

Experience in programme administration

Experience of using large student databases, preferably SITS      

Detailed knowledge and understanding of higher education institutional procedures, regulations and codes of practice on student administration

Effective use of IT systems in support of role including use of databases, with excellent proficiency in use of MS Office, particularly Excel
