Postal Supervisor
Job Title: Mailing / Postal Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Salary: £27,000pa
Job Purpose:
Mailing supervisors have a dual role which involves being a direct point of contact for all processes in relation to ad-hoc mailings as well as managing all aspects of the onsite postal operation. The role requires a flexible individual capable of managing a variety of processes effectively and efficiently.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage the day to day operation via direct reports to achieve SLAs and KPIs, monitoring performance of the team, quality standards and performance against SLAs, acting on and resolving any issues
- Support the Senior Team Leader by monitoring SLA performance, reporting any issues or service failures appropriately
- Use sound understanding of processes and service to recognise and resolve problems, issues and risks and where appropriate escalate them to the Senior Team Leader
- Act as an escalation point for the team and resolve any technical queries. Ensure the Senior Team Leader is informed of any issues or complaints
- Support the Senior Team Leader as requested to ensure best practice is shared across sites
- Ensure back to work interviews and other HR related management activity is delivered as required
- Complete 1:1s and performance reviews for direct reports taking Senior Team Leader views into consideration
- Maintain good working relationships with clients and liaise with them in a professional and helpful manner at all times.
- Handle client escalations acting as the primary client contact point for their team
- Produce timely and accurate daily, weekly, and monthly MI, and submit as required
Essential Skills:
- Strong people manager, able to influence people at all levels with experience of managing operational teams and able to communicate how to change processes and systems to improve team performance
- Demonstrates an understanding of company performance management processes and how to consistently manage performance issues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to persuade and influence staff and clients at all levels in a professional manner
- Diligent, conscientious attitude with a strong work ethic
- Strong organizational skills, able to keep abreast of their own workload and that of the team and able to ensure deadlines are met
- Strong Microsoft Office skills in, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience of setting SMART objectives and of coaching direct reports to understand and utilise SMART objectives with their teams
